JONES – Olene (Duman), 94, of Ebensburg, passed away May 22, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born July 11, 1924 in Nicktown, daughter of the late Walter and Aline (Kirsch) Duman. Preceded in death by her husband James M. Jones, Jr.; and brothers Duane, Stanton (Lucille), and Claire Duman, Survived by children Jamie (Fernando) Chiriboga; James (Dawn) Jones III; and Sharon (Jay) Krisher; and grandchildren: Andres “Benji” Chiriboga & Elena (Richard), Chiriboga-Quintero; Dylan & Evan Jones; and Sam & Alex Krisher. Also survived by siblings: Velma, (wife of deceased husband Ernie) Banfield, Geraldine, (wife of deceased husband Don) Long; Herman, (husband of deceased wives Carol and Millie) Duman, and Jean (Spero) Tsikalas, all of Ebensburg; Edith, (wife of deceased husband Merle) Parish and Louise, (wife of deceased husband Robert) Kline, both of Nicktown; Margie, (wife of deceased husband Jack) Dinicola, Placentia, Ca; Nancy (Duane “Sonny”) Plummer, Fayetteville, Pa.; Donna, (wife of deceased husband Robert “Bucky”) Jones, Cape May Courthouse, NJ; and sister-in-law Betty Duman, Williamstown, NJ.; and 57 nieces and nephews. Olene had been a resident of Rebekah Manor for the last ten years, where she enjoyed visiting with friends, playing bingo and sharking at cards. She was retired from the Cambria County Courthouse, where she had served 28 years as the elevator operator and “unofficial guide” to all the offices in the historic building. A former longtime resident of East Sample Street, Ebensburg, she had always taken great pride in her flower boxes. She was an avid dancer at Lemon Drop Lounge, the Oriental Ballroom, the Sam Bar and Sunset. She was a lifelong member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, where she was wedded to her late husband and served as a C.C.D. teacher and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery.
