HOOVER – Charles M. “Jocko”, 76, of Ebensburg, passed away July 9, 2019 at the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home. Born November 4, 1942 in Ebensburg, son of the late Merle and Jane (Miller) Hoover. Preceded in death by brothers: Clair, Merle, and Paul Herman Hoover; and sisters Myra Mangiacarne and Maryann Thomas. Survived by brother, Lee (Mickey) Hoover, Missouri; sisters: Margaret (James) Tully, Hollidaysburg; and Theresa Dinsmore, Columbus, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jocko was a retired postal carrier, well known in the Ebensburg area. A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Post 4962 V.F.W. and Post 363 American Legion. He was also an active member of the Ebensburg Loyal Order of Moose where he had served as a past governor. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m., until the time of Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m., Monday July 15th, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, Deacon Thomas Buige, officiating. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery. Military Rites by local veteran’s organizations at the funeral home.
