Obituary of Donna Lee Mabry

MABRY — Donna Lee (Barr), 75, of Ebensburg, went into peaceful rest with the Lord on August 11, 2019. Born August 31, 1943 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Charlotte Louise (Carlson) Barr. Survived by John, her husband of 55 years; and children, Cynthia Lee (Michael) Bennett; John Michael Mabry; and Amy Lynn Sherry. Grandchildren, Marquel Sherry, Kendra Sherry, Abbie Bennett and Ethan Bennett. Also 4 granddogs and 2 grandcats. Sister of Martha Gongloff; JoAnne Byich; Jack (Patricia) Barr; Charlotte (Robert) Westrick; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg. Member Cursillo, Pre Cana Chair Couple, Executive Chair Couple Family Life, President of the former Laurel Highland Poison Center and Cambria County Chemical People. Donna was a registered nurse for over 45 years; and was an avid walker. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Brian Warchola, celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations in Donna’s memory may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
