Johns - Norma "Kay", 70 of Ebensburg, formerly of Chickaree, passed away February 17, 2007 at Laurel Crest Manor. Born February 7, 1937 in Chickaree, daughter of the late George W. Sr., and Phoebe(Kuchenbrod) Johns. Preceded in death by son Jeffrey Maraj, brothers Lionel and Dwyer Johns, infant brother Kevin Daryl Johns, and sister Velma "Vivian" Vandenberg.
Survived by loving daughter, Mindy Maraj, Ebensburg; and a son Mark. Loving grandmother of Mindy's son, Douglas. Sister of Lewzane Johns, Florida; Hubert Johns, Ohio; Elaine Roberts, Vintondale; Shirley Clawson, Mundys Corner; and George Johns, Chickaree. Also many nieces and nephews.
Kay had been a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. She enjoyed being a grandmother and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, followed by a funeral service at the 8:00 p.m., Brother Harold Swanson, officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay's memory may be made to the Dauntless Fire Company, Ebensburg.
