ORANGE - William "Bill," 76, of Elizabethtown, Pa., died Feb. 8, 2007, at the Masonic Village Health Care Center. Born April 7, 1929, in Heilwood, son of Leonard S. and Ruth Campbell Orange. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marguerite "Peggy" Sparks Orange; brother, Leonard, and wife, Janet, Ebensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Bill graduated from St. Francis College in Loretto, with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a chemisty minor in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951. He retired in 1978 as a highly decorated full colonel from Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. During his career, he served in Korea and Vietnam and two separate assignments at Dover Air Force Base, Del. Peggy and he lived on Andrews Lake in Frederica, Del., for 21 years after his retirement, before moving to Pennsylvania. While in Delaware, he was chairman of the board for the Kent County Theater Guild. He was instrumental in acquiring the land and building for the Patchwork Playhouse of the Kent County Theater Guild, in support of his wife Peggy. Funeral service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, take a friend to a show at the Patchwork Playhouse.
