WESTRICK - Bernard T., 78, Ebensburg, died March 15, 2007, at home. Born Feb. 26, 1929, in Elder Township, son of Dennis and Adelaide Westrick. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Earl and Leo; son-in-law, Don Weber; and grandson, Derek Westrick. Survived by wife, the former Anna Marie Fox, to whom he would have been married 50 years in August, and these children: Mary Beth Weber, Ebensburg; Lisa Surkovich (Tim), Hollidaysburg; David (Chris), Pittsburgh; Mark (Lori), Sanford, N.C.; and Paula DeWitt (Tim), Annapolis, Md.; grandchildren, Eric, Devon and Jared Weber, Krista and Anthony Berzonsky, CJ Buskey, Kyle and Todd Surkovich, Samantha and Joseph Westrick, Diana and Dylan Westrick, and Sam, Hannah, Luke and Sarah DeWitt. Brother of Alma Burgoon, Ashville, and Thais Gibson, Greentree. Retired after 32 years in 1991 as a teacher from the Richland School District. Navy veteran of the Korean War, having served from 1949 to 1953. Member of VFW Post 4963, serving as commander in 1970, and American Legion Post 363, both of Ebensburg. Served 20 years on Ebensburg Borough Council from 1974 to 1993. Active in several committees at Holy Name Church, where he was a devoted parish member and a lifetime member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Life member of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association. No public viewing or visitation. Family will receive friends one-half hour prior to memorial funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name Church or Ebensburg Ambulance Association or Ebensburg Public Library in Bernie's memory.
