DeYULIS - Alma M., 94, of Nanty Glo, passed away Jan. 21, 2014 at home. Born May 17, 1919 in Clarence, daughter of the late Antonio and Catherine (Pezzin) Schirato. Preceded in death by husband, Anthony; children, Mario, Louise and Diane; siblings, Loretta, Mario, Aldo, Ida and Anthony; and son in law, Richard DeSantis. Survived by children, Francis (Susan) DeYulis; Madeline (William) Cox; Nancy DeSantis; Elaine (Ernest) Sekerak; Mary (Daniel) Llewellyn; and Christine (Kenneth) Robinson. 16 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Antoinette (Don) Hunter; daughter in law, Kathleen DeYulis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Alma was famous for her Italian cooking and enjoyed spending time with all of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo , where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at St. Mary's Church, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Alma's memory may be made to Conemaugh Hospice. A special thank you to Conemaugh Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care and compassion.
