MARKOVICH - Elayne Irene, 85, of Vinco, passed away September 3, 2015 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born February 13, 1930, daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Kulik) Susko. Preceded in death by brother, John Susko, sister Mary Dubovecky and sister, Ann Matejovich. Last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by husband, Albert; Elayne s death ends a 63 year marriage union. Also survived by sons, Allan, Vinco; Arliss and wife Leslie, Apollo; Arlen and wife Stephanie, Ebenburg; and daughters, Alrene and husband Bradley Gorsuch, Vinco; and Alissa and husband Bill Schmidt, Ohio. 15 grandchildren, Jared (Stephanie), Joshua, Jeremy (fiancée Tamara), and Jordan Gorsuch. Michael, Anna, and Marya-Markovich (George) Klayko. Marissa and Alayna Markovich. Coleena and Corinne Markovich. Landon, Logan, Laikyn and Laurelyn Schmidt. Elayne was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner; served as President of the Catholic War Veterans of the USA, Nanty Glo, and Democratic Club of Nanty Glo. Elayne was employed at the Mundy s Corner Drive-In for a brief period and then for the remainder of her life was a homemaker and devoted grandmother to her adoring grandchildren. A special thanks to Asera Care Hospice (Kim, Tammy and Autumn) as well as the Golden Living Center staff. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John Vianney Church, the Very Rev. Andrew C. Stanko, VF, celebrant. Committal, Holy Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Elayne s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
