McGUIRE – Rita Marie, 92, of Nanty Glo, passed away April 9, 2018 at The Communities of Indian Haven, Indiana, PA. Born Oct. 19, 1925, daughter of the late Charles and Viola (Rager) Garver Fetzer. Preceded in death by husband, Peter J. McGuire; siblings, Beatrice Boring, Violet Mack, Hazel Michaels, Robert Garver, Dean Fetzer and Charles Fetzer. Survived by daughters, Brenda J. (Dan) Sample; Sheila L. Mitchell; and step daughter, Ellen M. Pope. Also survived by 4 grandchildren; brothers, Clyde Fetzer and Willard Fetzer; and sister, Leona Stephens; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from Civil Service as secretary for nearly 20 years. Past President of the D.A.V. Auxiliary. The family would like to thank the staff at Indian Haven for their professional care; and also to Aseracare Hospice. Friends will be received from 4p.m. until time of funeral service at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Interment, Hampton Memorial Gardens, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s memory may be made to D.A.V.
