MARSINKO – Catherine Christine (Lyons), 77, of Nanty Glo, passed away Jan. 23, 2018. Born July 30, 1940 in Clymer, daughter of James E. Lyons and Stella A. Gerrick (Lyons) Miller. Preceded in death by parents, step father, Milton Miller; husband, Michael J. Marsinko; father and mother in law, John and Catherine A. Marsinko; sister, Shirley A. Lasinsky; aunt, Delores “Min” Kozar; and much loved companion, Lexie. Survived by sons, Bryon Michael (Karen) Marsinko and David M. (Mary) Marsinko. Grandsons, Nathan D., Noah M, and Ryan A. Marsinko. Step grandchildren, Dustin Rheel, Stella Rheel, and Brandon Rheel. Step great grandchildren, Raymond and Alexis Rheel, twins, Lincoln and Lucy Rheel. Also survived by sister, Martha (Joseph) Bielski; niece, Cathy Serre; nephews, William, Jr. and John Lasinsky; and Joey Bielski; cousins, Elaine (Kozar) Rogers and Dan Kerfoot; and her pet, Cleo. Living in California in the early 60’s, Catherine worked in the Air Force Division of B.F. Goodrich Co., making fuel cells for select aircraft. Returning to Pennsylvania, Chris renewed interest in the medical field and graduated from Conemaugh Memorial Hospital as a Registered Radiology Technician. She attended Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech, EMT and Paramedic II. Member of Blacklick Valley Ambulance. Graduate of Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech as a Registered LPN, and worked at Laurel Crest Manor. During the 70’s and 80’s, Catherine was involved with her son, Bryon with Blacklick Valley Band; and with both Bryon and Dave with Boy Scouts; and was proud of both when they got their Eagle Scouts. She also enjoyed David’s marathons and track at Bishop Carroll. Her favorite hobbies were bowling and golf. She was involved in her husband, Michael’s car restorations, where he restored a ‘57 Chevy and a ‘40 Ford Coupe and Corvette. She enjoyed home parties, dances and watching the families grow with the special people in her life. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo.
