Obituary of Anna Doray

DORAY - Anna (Kalenak), 83, of Elizabethtown, died peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018. A respected and cherished mother to Diann, Adriene, Susan and David, Anna was born on July 27, 1935 in Nanty Glo, to Michael and Anna Kalenak. Anna was one of 12 Kalenak children, her childhood was spent in Nanty Glo. Anna had a lifelong passion for the English language and for learning and teaching. She also enjoyed attending plays, going to museums around the world and walks outdoors. Anna was a graduate of Nanty Glo High School, Ohio State University and received her PhD. from Temple University. Anna enjoyed a career teaching in Colorado, Ukraine, Japan and at the Milton Hershey School. In death, Anna showed the same courage, integrity and grace that had been the hallmarks of her life. She is remembered with love and missed with heartache by her daughters, Diann Chambers, Adriene Franklin, and Susan Egan; son, David Doray; grandchildren, Michael Egan, Carolyn Egan, Danica Wytcherely, David Riesberg, and Evan Chambers; and great grandchildren Wyatt Wytcherley and Josephine Wytcherley. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until time of Brief Service at 9:30 a.m. at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Divine Liturgy to follow at 10 a.m. at Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Nanty Glo, the Very Rev. George Hnatko. Interment, Holy Ascension Cemetery.
