Obituary of Rolley Findley

FINDLEY Rolley, 94, of Vintondale, passed away August 23, 2015 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. Born April 29, 1921 in Vintondale, son of the late William Harrison & Edna Diane (Michaels) Findley. Last surviving member of his immediate family he is preceded in death by daughter Edna Marie (Findley) Day-Westrick; grandson Allen Findley, granddaughter, Bernice Laney; great great granddaughter Montana Shilling, daughter-in-law Karen Findley; son-in-law George Wilt; and brothers Wayne & Russell Findley. He is survived by children: William (Matilda) Findley, Twin Rocks; Barb Wilt, Nanty Glo; Myrtle (Elmer) Jones, Nanty Glo; Janet (Dale) Humphrey, Hagerstown, MD; Edward (Valerie) Findley, Elizabethtown, Pa.; and Robert Findley of Nanty Glo. Also 28 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A retired coal miner, he was a World War II Army veteran. He was a former member of the Polish American Citizens Club in Nanty Glo. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m, Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Walter Misner, officiating. Military Rite by Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks and Vintondale area veterans ritual team. Interment at Benshoff Hill Cemetery.
