Obituary of Shary G. Letzo

LETZO - Shary G., 67, of New Germany, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her mother's home in Portage, December 5, 2013. Preceded in death by father, William D. Wood; mother and father in law George and Genevieve Letzo; aunt, Gertrude Kaiser; and special friend and spiritual advisor, Msgr. John Little. Survived by her dear mother, Mildred Shrift; loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Gene, who was married April 16, 1966 at SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church, Portage: children, Mark (Sherry) Letzo; Missy (Eric) Delozier; Angel Letzo; and Gineen Letzo; as well as loving grandsons, Evan Letzo and Nathan Delozier. Also survived by aunts and uncles: Paul Letzo, Julie & Al Bensie, Don Kaiser and Pearl Kaiser, brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Prior to her illness, Shary was a member of Holy Name Church, Ebensburg, She worked at BestForm Distribution Center, Richland, for 8 years up until its closing. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed feeding her birds, and had a strong faith and a deep love of God and all his creatures. At Shary's request a visitation and funeral will be held at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Deacon Thomas Buige, officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Portage. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shary's memory may be made toward asthma research or to Spiritual Bouquets and Masses at the church of your choice.
