MARDIS Donald E., 94, of Mineral Point, passed away October 30, 2015 at Golden Living Center, Richland Twp. Born July 18, 1921 in Johnstown, son of the late Earl Martin and Pearl Elizabeth (Overdorff) Mardis. Preceded in death by wife, the former Velma (Reese) Mardis; great-granddaughter Amber Diane Mardis, sister Alice Morrison and brother Floyd. Survived by sons: Ronald D., Mineral Point; and Ray O. (Bernadette) Mardis, Sr, of Morgantown, West Virginia; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great grandchildren. Also survived by brother Bill Mardis, Delaware, Ohio; and sisters: Thelma Berry, Delaware, Ohio and Edith Bailey, Columbus, Ohio. Don was retired from Ebensburg Oil & Gas Company and was a member of St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, Rev. Fr. Matthew Reese, officiatng. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
