Obituary of Robert A. Pytash

PYTASH - Robert A. Rob , 70, of Vintondale, passed away April 18, 2014 at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center Hospice Care Center. Born August 19, 1943 in Vintondale, son of the late Steve and Mary (Gresko) Pytash. Preceded in death by sister, Pauline Shope and brother Stephen J. Pytash. Survived by wife, the former Zetha R. Lloyd, to whom he was married 43 years, and children: Faith (Kevin) Meagher, Pittsburgh, and Josh (Michelle) Pytash, Strongstown; and grandchildren: Rachel Meagher; Cody, Brayden & Mason Pytash. Also survived by brothers and sisters: Richard Pytash, Vintondale; Susie (Robert) Hagens, Strongstown; Denise (Fred) Strough, Ebensburg; Cindy (Gary) Bishop, Northern Cambria; Dennis (Susan) Pytash, Smithfield, Virginia; and Bill Pytash, of Lemoyne, Pa. Rob retired from Dietrich Industries and Bethlehem Mine #32. Member of UMWA and a Vietnam Army veteran. He was an avid buck hunter, enjoyed bus trips with his wife and loved his grandchildren and the Steelers. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Pastor Rich Stock, officiating. Military rites by the Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks, and Vintondale veteran s organizations. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rob s memory may be made to the Vintondale First Baptist Church.
