Obituary of Ora Faye Cunningham

CUNNINGHAM – Ora “Faye”, 90, of Vinco, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, January 22, 2018. She was born June 5, 1927 in Jackson Township, PA daughter of the late J. Jackson and Mabel R. (Gillin) Dishong. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Robert T. “Tom” Cunningham on June 18, 2014 and grandson, Brian P Cunningham. Faye is survived by her four precious sisters, Lola Urban (OH), Louise Moudy, (PA), Marlene Leidy-Berger (OH) and Jackie (Ed) Simmons (PA) and children Robert T. (Karen) Cunningham, Sheree (Forest) Wassum, and Anita (Irvin) Meredith. Eight grandchildren, Jeremy Cunningham, Erika (Nick) Ramsey, Sean (Beth) Cunningham, Carly (Ben) Karlberg, Gregory Meredith, Jenna (Benaiah) Tucci, Hayley (Jon) McIlvaine and Kelsey (Brian) Shaum. Nine great-grandchildren, Ella Cunningham, Micah Ramsey, Wesley Tucci, Alexandra Ramsey, Cian Cunningham, Henrik Karlberg, William Tucci, Graeme Karlberg and Caleb Ramsey. After graduating from Ebensburg Cambria High School in 1944, Faye went to work in an Altoona plant to support the WWII effort. She married and worked for over 30 years at Bestform in Johnstown, PA. Faye was a lifelong member of Pike Grace Brethren Church in Mundy’s Corner. In her retirement years, Faye was an avid reader and enjoyed participating in the church library book reading competition. Faye enjoyed working in the yard and garden and taking daily walks with her husband Tom. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Pike Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Rudy Sheptock, officiating. Interment, Pike Grace Brethren Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Faye’s memory may be made to Pike Grace Brethren Church 541 Pike Road, Johnstown, PA 15909.
