HEGEDUS - Robert D. Bob , 55, of Mundys Corner, passed away April 24, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Born May 4, 1959 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by father, James Whitey Hegedus. Survived by mother, Erma (Sandolfini) Hegedus; loving former wife/companion, Sharon (Fry) Hegedus; daughter, Anna (fiancé Stuart); son, James II (Amber) Shuman; and grandson, Jaxon. Brother of Anna (Joe) Verba; Frank (Diane) Hegedus; and Jim (Deb) Hegedus; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and loving pet cat, Tinkerbell. Member UMWA. Formerly employed by Griffith & Petz; and Johnstown Specialty Casting. Bob loved fishing, hunting, gardening and throwing horseshoes; as well as spending time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday the Rev. Marvin E. Lowery, officiating. Inurnment, St. Charles Cemetery, Twin Rocks.
