Obituary of Mary Louise Kimball

KIMBALL - Mary Louise, of Ebensburg, died peacefully at home at the age of 91 on October 8, 2016, surrounded by her family. Loving and devoted wife of the late, L. Robert Kimball, she was a dedicated mother to 9 children, John (Sheila) Kimball, Ann (Csaba) Balazs, Kathryn Gleason, Jeffrey (Deborah) Kimball, Susie (Leo) McCafferty, Sandy (Tom) Giotto, Patty (Jeff) Kendall, Greta (Art) Rooney, Mary Jo (Andy) Hopton. The fourth of seven children of Ruth (Binder) and James McNelis, Mary Louise is also survived by sister, Nancy Sacra. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, James, Paul, John, Dick and sister, Patty Brennan. Proud of her family, she was highly respected and cherished by her husband, children, 26 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. A picture of poise and grace, she will be missed by all who knew her. Valedictorian of her high school class, after Mary Louise graduated from Penn State, she devoted her life to teaching her children and supporting her husband in growing his business. Motherhood is the crowning achievement of this selfless, intelligent, talented and charming woman. Her family and friends will cherish countless memories of times spent with her, especially celebrations at The Farm, a place that she made so magical for everyone. Her spirit will remain alive and her legacy will live on. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where vigil prayer service will be held and from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Louise's memory may be made to Windber Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
