KLINE – Ruth W., - 89, of East Horner Street, Ebensburg, entered into the joy of heaven, surrounded by her family, August 19, 2009 at home. Born Leniah Ruth Wills, December 22, 1919 in Pittsburgh and reared in South Fork, daughter of the late Howard W. and Lucy (DeMoise) Wills. Preceded in death by husband John C. “Jack” Kline, brothers DeVon, and Raymond and sister Helen Louise. Survived by children: Judith Ann, wife of James Michael Naughton, Jr., Allentown; J. David, married to the former Barbara Orr, Ebensburg, and grandchildren: Laura K (Oren) Zvulun; James Michael (Erin) Naughton III; Ruth C. (Christopher) Bortz; John David (Kristine) Kline II; and Joshua Matthew Kline. Also survived by great grandchildren Naomie Faye & Mia Jolie Zvulun, Ella Elisabeth & Lydia Grace Bortz, Hailey Catherine & Matthew Aaron Kline; brother Paul E. Wills, Lancaster and sister Twila Sharar, Piney Flats, Tennessee. Member of the Ebensburg United Methodist Church where she was church treasurer for 23 years. Retired in 1982 from the Johnstown Bureau of Employment Security where she was a supervisor. During her time at the Bureau she provided assistance in finding employment opportunities for hundreds, if not thousands of local residents, and continues to assist folks even following her retirement. Mrs. Kline served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 39 years in various state offices. Active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Ruth served as Past Matron of the former Ebensburg Chapter #303 O.E.S. from 1959-60; and D.D.G.M. of the Pennsylvania O.E.S., 1963-64. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m., Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, the Rev. Roger Johnson, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. An Eastern Star Service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home., Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital, Masonic Learning Center for Children with Dyslexia, or the charity of your choice.
