GONGLOFF – Milton O. Jr., 80, Nanty Glo, died Sept. 29, 2009, at home. Born March 30, 1929, in Wehurm, son of the late Milton Sr. and Lillie (Jenkins) Gongloff. Preceded in death by sons, Kevin and Tim; and brothers and sisters, Thelma Noble, William J., Mary Slentz, Bertha Romain, Frank, Sara Hnatnick and Howard. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by wife, the former Ann Lindrose; children, Judi (Mike) Stefanick, Nanty Glo; Leah Ann (Mark) Schall, Belsano; Michael (Debora), Nanty Glo; Daniel (Jeannette), Colorado; Francis, Virginia; and Brian (Lois), Ebensburg; grandchildren, Lauren, Carly, Mike, Adam, Rebecca, Sam, Aimee, Matt, Jared, Haylee, Dylan, Emmalie, Ben, Joel and Luke; and great-granddaughters, Madison and Kendall. Member of St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo, and Old-Timers Industrial League. Retired from Heisley Mines and U.S. Postal Service. He started the basketball program at St. Mary's School; played baseball for Johnstown Johnnies and also Cambria County Industrial League, and then Philadelphia Athletics of the minor leagues; and coached Nanty Glo Legion Baseball for many years. Life member of Nanty Glo Fire Company, where he served as treasurer for 24 years. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bowser- Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be held and Nanty Glo Firemen's service will be held at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, the Rev. Martin A. Cingle, celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nanty Glo Fire Company.
