BOLAND – Clifton J. "C.J.," 78, Ebensburg, died Nov. 8, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 25, 1930, in Cresson, son of Harold J. and Savilla A. (Sellers) Boland. Preceded in death by parents; infant brother, John; brothers, Robert and Jay Harold; and sisters, Miriam and Donna Mae. Survived by wife, the former M. Joyce Maloney; children, Joseph, and wife, Melinda, San Antonio, Texas; Kevin, and wife, Denise, North Carolina; Tom, and wife, Brenda, Brunswick, Md.; Hollace Ann, and husband, Greg Gallardy, Seward; and Darren J., Ebensburg; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Brother of Gerald Boland, Betty Link, Virginia Bradley and Mary Ellen Kelly. Army veteran of the Korean War. Former member of 628th Tank Battalion and HHC 1st Battalion 103 D Armor, both of Johnstown. Past commander of American Legion Post 363 and VFW Post 4963, and member of Knights of Columbus Council 522, all of Ebensburg. Retired from Admiral Peary Vo-Tech, Ebensburg. No public viewing or visitation. Memorial funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson. Funeral arrangements by Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.
