AMBRISCO - John E. “Jack”, 76 of North Towanda, NY, formerly of Ebensburg, died November 25, 2010 in North Towanda. Born July 3, 1934 in Spangler, son of the late John A. and Verna (Ivory) Ambrisco. Preceded in death by sister Margaret T. “Peggy” Ambrisco and brother-in-law Ronald Bernardo. Survived by children, Kevin, in the Midwest; Jackie and Janet, New York, and Allan, of Ohio; brothers and sisters: James F. (Joan) Ambrisco; Joseph (Beverly) Ambrisco all of Ebensburg; Barbara J. Bernardo, Windber; William Ambrisco, Mountainview, CA; Robert G. (Ann) Ambrisco and Patrick A. (Mary Ann) Ambrisco all of Ebensburg; many nieces and nephews and close friend and neighbor Linda Soos along with her husband and family. Jack was a retired chemist from the Durez Chemical Corporation in Niagara Falls, New York. He was an avid reader, golfer and bowler. He enjoyed all sports and loved to study sports statistics. Friend will be received at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at church cemetery.
