BOOTH - Louise M. (nee Dillon), formerly of Carrolltown and Ebensburg, passed away at Columbia Cottage, Collegeville, Pa., on May 28, 2005, at the age of 94. Born in Carrolltown in 1910, Louise was the seventh of nine children and the last surviving child of the late Robert and Bernetta (Wetzel) Dillon. She took great pride in the fact that she was descended from many of the pioneering families of northern Cambria County, including the Benders, Dillons, Wetzels, Luthers and Platts. She collected stories and pictures of her ancestors and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others. Louise lived in Ebensburg most of her adult years. After the early death of her husband, Donald Booth of Spangler, Louise met the challenge of raising four sons alone. She worked five years for Drs. Hoover and McIntyre as a dental assistant and then established a 20-year career in the Recorder of Deeds Office at the Cambria County courthouse. After retiring, she spent several years traveling to all parts of the United States and Europe. She was a member of the Cambria County Historical Society, the St. Elizabeth Fraternity TOS, Mt. Assissi of Loretto and an active member of Holy Name Catholic Church. Surviving are three sons: Dr. Donald Booth, and wife, Tracy (Yarmouth, Maine and Steward, Fla.); Richard Booth, and wife, Lowell (Willow Grove); and Frank Booth, and wife Melissa (Pottstown), and her daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Booth Rossage (Westmont). Her son, David Booth (Westmont), preceded Louise in death. Louise was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Andrew (deceased), Eliza Johnson, Mark, Amanda Detwiler, Rachel, Michael, Molly Reilly, Ian, Noah, Colin and Jana, and two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Cullen Reilly. Her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews total well over a hundred. Louise was well loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She will be most fondly remembered for her legendary homemaking and gardening skills. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home on North Center Street in Ebensburg on Wednesday, June 1, at 9 a.m., followed by her funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. Memorial contributions may be sent to Holy Name Church in Louise's memory.
