Obituary of Pauline Urda

URDA - Pauline, 87, 600 N. West St., Ebensburg, died June 10, 2005, in Johnstown. Born Jan. 27, 1918, in Bakerton, daughter of Martin Sr. and Mary (Stefanik) Sponsky. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Stephen; brothers, Bernard, John, Sylvester, Wilfred, Ellsworth and Martin Jr.; brother-in-law, Hugh; and sisters-in-law, Ruth and Evelyn. She was a loving mother to Diane, wife of James Snair, Ebensburg, and Stephen, married to the former Kathryn Cecil, Michigan, and grandchildren, Anna-lisa, Ethan and Malorie. Sister of Lydia Welteroth (Tom), Bakerton; Magdalene Donaldson, Hastings; and Ronald Sponsky (Shirley), Northern Cambria; also sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Grace Sponsky, Ebensburg; Arlene Sponsky, Michigan; Ann Sponsky, Maryland; Michael Urda, Michigan; and Helen Almose Urda, Michigan. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of CD of A Court 680 and Senior Citizens and was a lunchroom grandmother at Holy Name School, all of Ebensburg. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake services will be held Sunday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum.
