GONGLOFF – John, 79, of Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg, and formerly of Mineral Point, died peacefully February 1, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Born August 13, 1933 in Loretto, son of the late Richard C. and Catherine A (Webb) Gongloff. Preceded in death by wife, Janet (2004) to whom he was married for 51 years; and brothers: Paul, David, Thomas, and James Gongloff. Survived by sons: Gary, married to the former Kathy Jessell, Johnstown; and Terry, married to the former Margie Wirfel, of Summerhill. Also grandchildren: Susanne, of Stephens City, VA; Gary Gongloff and his fiance’ Natalie Krampy, Mineral Point, Mark, married to Natalie Lawrence, Martinsville, VA and Kristi, wife of Corey Millward, Nanty Glo; and great-granddaughter Alley of Martinsville, VA. John was the brother of E. Jane Gongloff, Loretto, Dorothy (Roy) Litzinger, Patton; Helen (John) Barlick, Cresson, Betty (Don) Mento, and Robert (Darlene) Gongloff, both of Loretto. Also survived by sisters-in-law Janet Baker Gongloff, Loretto and Rita Walters Gongloff, of Mundys Corner and numerous nieces and nephews. A member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church. Retired from Bethlehem Mines and Holy Name School. John enjoyed many years of hunting with his sons and grandsons, cutting firewood, and tractor and quad riding in the woods. Member of UMWA. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of other memorials, donations are encouraged to the St. Vincent de’ Paul Food Pantry in John’s memory.
