FREDERICK – David Richard Sr. “Old Man Frederick,” 67, Strongstown, died Feb. 2, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 12, 1945, in Strongstown, son of the late George and Katherine (Blackner) Frederick. Preceded in death by infant grandson, Jeffery Frederick Jr.; brothers, Harry “Snook” and John; and infant sister, Shirley. Survived by wife, Georgia Cruley Frederick, Strongstown; children, Darla Detwiler, Northern Cambria; Josie Frederick, Nanty Glo; David Jr. (Missy) Frederick, Nanty Glo; and Jeff (Heidi) Frederick, Strongstown; stepchildren, Denise (Bob) Holmes, Tannersville, and Thomas (Melody) Cruley, Stroudsburg; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, George (Josephine), Strongstown, and Ronald (Sandy), Strongstown; sister-in-law, Ann Frederick, Strongstown; and his best friend, Shadow. Retired coal miner. U.S. Navy veteran. Member of UMWA, former member of Blue Goose Sportsmen’s Club, Nanty Glo Polish Club, VFW, Twin Rocks and life member of Tri Country Snowmobile Club. He loved his camp, fishing and hunting. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Pine Land Cemetery, Strongstown. Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, is in charge of arrangements.
