Obituary of Genevieve A. Palko

PALKO – Genevieve A. “Genny,” 85, Nanty Glo, went to be with the Lord Feb. 11, 2013. Preceded in death by husband, Paul S.; brothers, Eugene and Mario Creany; sister, Mary Guella; daughter, Barbara J.; son, Donald P.; daughter-in-law, Connie M. (Hall); and great-grandson, Christopher “C.J.” Sharpe. Survived by children, Douglas P., Johnstown; LeeAnn, wife of Charles Brown, Aurora, Ill.; Cynthia, wife of Jeffery Dolan, Columbia, Md.; David P., and wife, Cheryl (Wheland), Windber; Celeste, wife of Cliff Luhrs, Palmyra, Pa.; Dennis P., and wife, Gloria (Settle), Nanty Glo; and Daniel P., and wife, Marisa (Pcola), Nanty Glo. Also survived by 28 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Nanty Glo, Legion of Mary, Altar Rosary Society, Adult Church Choir and St. Vincent de Paul Society. Friends and relatives are invited to Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, where a liturgical wake will be held. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caroline Street, Nanty Glo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Vincent de Paul Society, Nanty Glo.
