Obituary of Mark A. Sauger

SAUGER – Mark A., 49, Colver, passed away March 11, 2013, at Good Samaritan Care Center. Born Aug. 3, 1963, in Colver, son of Fred and Margaret ( Wertz ) Sauger. Preceded in death by grandparents, Paul and Mary Sauger and Michael and Ester Wertz. Survived by parents, Colver; brothers, Fred Jr. (Diane) Sauger and Chris (Gloria Rusher) Sauger; niece, Courtney (Kareen) Knight; nephews, Austin Ben Sauger, Cresson, and Randy and Joshua Hodson, Colver; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Employed by Cambria County at Duman Lake Park, which he enjoyed, and maintenance at the Cambria County Courthouse. Past vice president and trustee at Colver Sportsmen’s Club, which he also shot darts for. President of Central Dart League. Served on Sportsmen’s Annual Coyote Hunt from its beginning. Played fast and slow pitch softball for various team in the area. Member of Cool Spring Camp in Potter County, where he enjoyed his loves, hunting, fishing, Yankee baseball and Nortre Dame and Steelers football. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg. Funeral service will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home and continuing on to Holy Ascension Church, Colver, in the absence of the Very Rev. Andrew Matychak who is ill, the Very Rev. George Johnson will be doing the service. Committal, church cemetery, Colver.
