Obituary of Winona June Hudson

Winona June Hudson, 86, Cresson, died Tuesday at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George Espie and Effie (Williams) Berkhimer. Surviving are her husband, George Hudson Jr., whom she married April 6, 1948; three children: Linda Filak (Larry) of Cresson, Georgeanne "Gan" Pettenati (Rick) of Ashville and Marvin (Dorothy) of Hollidaysburg; six grandchildren: Dr. Larry Filak Jr., Darin Filak, Angela Waddell, Christy Servello, Joseph Hudson and Megan Hudson; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn Berkhimer in Ohio. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Simms. Winona retired as an LPN from the former Cresson Center. She was a member of Cresson United Methodist Church, and she loved camping and fishing. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, Pastor William Pepper officiating. Interment will be in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
