GILLIN - Mina L (Stiles), 90, a resident of Richland Woods, Johnstown and formerly of Ebensburg, went home to be with her Lord January 1, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, at Windber Hospice. Born March 26, 1923 in Cambria Twp., daughter of the late Emanuel and Eula (Robison) Stiles. Last surviving member of her immediate family, she is preceded in death by her husband Roy H. Gillin; infant son Herbert Roy; sisters Dorothy Evans, Mary Jane Black, and Virginia Morrison; and brothers: Manny , Wilmer and Donald Stiles. Survived by daughters: Carolyn, wife of Edwin Paroda, Vinco; Rodell, wife of Christopher Snyder; and Fay, wife of Michael Holbay, both of Johnstown. Also survived by grandchildren: Michelle Paroda, Christopher (Michelle) Snyder, Corey (Ema), Bradley (Debra) & Brodi (& girl friend Kacey) Snyder, and Michael (Shaley) McClain; and five great-grandchildren: Ryan, Alex, Bradley, Abigail & Sophia. Mina had attended the Johnstown United Brethren Church and the Ebensburg First Baptist Church, where she had served as a Bible and Sunday School Teacher. She had also served as a Girl Scout leader. Mina had been employed at the former Smathers Restaurant in Ebensburg; Salem s True Value Hardware in Westmont, and the Hiram G. Andrews Center. She enjoyed baking and in her later years spent hours quilting and crocheting and produced many beautiful afghans and quilts for much of her family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m, Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday., the Rev. Joseph Couch. Officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. .
