KRESHALK Michael R, 57, of Ebensburg, passed away January 8, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born September 25, 1956 in Johnstown, son of the late Michael and Margaret Peg Kreshalk and grew up in Nanty Glo. Survived by wife, the former Susan Sweeney, to whom he was married 24 years and children Kristine and Mike, at home. Also survived by sisters: Kathleen (Robert E.) James, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Peggy (Keith) Weirauch of Kentucky, and brother-in-law Joseph Sweeney, Knoxville, TN. Mike was a graduate of Bishop Carroll High School and attended Penn State, Altoona Campus. He was a city paramedic with AMED for the last 25 years. A dedicated family man, he enjoyed woodworking, tinkering, working on cars and especially his trips to Disney World with his family. He had also served as a Nanty Glo Borough Policeman and as a Mainline 911 dispatcher during the Johnstown Flood of 1977, and was a life member of the Dauntless Fire Company. A member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Sunday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery. A Fireman s Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike s memory may be made to the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital Family House or to the Dauntless Fire Company.
