BARNO Michael P. Micky , 82 of Ebensburg passed away April 28, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born July 16, 1931 in Johnstown, son of the late Michael P. and Mary (Mihalik) Barno. Preceded in death by sister, Mary Martha Tootsie Anderson. Survived by wife, the former Irene Sado, to whom he was married 58 years and children: Eric Michael (Kimberly) Barno, Deale, Maryland; Jean M. (James) Maisano, New Rochelle, New York; grandsons Nicholas Barno and Michael James Maisano. Also survived by brothers and sister: Joseph (JoAnn) Barno, East Lake, Ohio; Margaret Ann (Paul) McGowan, Potomac, Maryland; and Edward (Sandy) Barno, of Michigan. Also numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Micky had a long career as a structural engineer having worked for L. Robert Kimball & Associates, Ebensburg; Crown American Corporation, Johnstown; and EB Paving Co., Bellefonte. A member of Holy Name Parish, and a longtime member of the Ebensburg Airport Authority, and veteran of the Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and reader, he also enjoyed watching Fox News and attending the 10:00 o clock coffee club. At Micky s request there will be no viewing. A gathering of friends will take place in the church narthex from 10:00am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Name School Angel Fund or to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, both of Ebensburg.
