RAY Jeffrey A., 51, Nanty Glo, died Oct. 7, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a 3 1/2 year courageous battle with cancer. Born March 7, 1963, in Johnstown, son of Jack and Viola (Yonkers) Ray. Survived by loving wife of 32 years, Peggy Ray; daughters, Amanda (Richard) Hoover and Alyssa (Troy) Jones, all of Nanty Glo; grandchildren, Riley and Nathan Hoover and Cameron and Bennett Jones; and parents. Brother of John (Brenda) Ray, North Carolina; Ed (Joai) Ray, Maryland; Mike (Sharon) Boyd, Poconos; Delores (Albert) Staton, Seward; Jody (David) Bassaro, Nanty Glo; Tina (James) McAndrew, New Kensington; and Tracy (Bob), Nanty Glo. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and close friend, Dave Dilling. He was affiliated with Nanty Glo United Methodist Church; was employed by Folcarelli Supply Co., Altoona; and was a former bartender at The Pit Stop. A U.S. Army National Guard and U.S. Air Force. Jeff was an avid Penn State, Penguins and Yankees fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Nanty Glo United Methodist Church, the Rev. John Hickman, officiating. Military service will be conducted by local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude s Research Center or Children s Hospital, Pittsburgh.
