HUDAK Michael, 98, of Colver, passed away December 26, 2014 at St. Benedict Manor. Born September 20, 1916 in Colver, son of the late Peter and Mary (Gunzo) Hudak, Sr. Preceded in death by wife, the former Helen Stoyka to whom he was married 59 years; brothers: Peter Jr., Joseph, John, George, Stephen and Paul Hudak, and sisters Mary Fincisky and Helen Horvat. Survived by brother and sisters: Andrew, Colver; Ann Kepich, Ebensburg; and Irene Reber, of Colver and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. A longtime member of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Colver, where he served as a deacon and secretary for the church. Former owner and operator with his brother Joseph, of Patton Beverage Company which they established in 1946, which is now owned by his nephew. A World War II Air Force veteran, where he served as a flight engineer and logged 1552 hours flying B-17 s. During the war, he saved his military pay and sent it to his mother with the idea of helping his family back home; His mother in turn had saved every dollar and returned it to him upon his return to the states, with this he established his Beverage business in Patton. A special thanks to Mike s caregivers for their love and attention. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m., Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a Parastas will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Requiem Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Holy Ascension Church, the Rev. Fr. Andrew Matychak, celebrant. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Ascension Orthodox Church.
