SOLOMON Edward Jr. Esq., Ebensburg, 85, passed away Jan. 3, 2015, at Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg. Born March 14, 1929, in Patton, son of Edward and Shalida Betsy (Daoud) Solomon. Preceded in death by parents; wife, former Mildred M. (Christoff) Solomom; sister, Rema Celestine Solomon; brothers, Allen D. and Ernest Solomon; sisters-in-law, Irene (Fred) Solomon, Loretta (Jay) Williams and Rose Booth; and father and mother-in-law, John A. and Agnes C. Christoff. Survived by daughter, Amy M. Solomon, Ebensburg; brother, Charles (Eileen) Solomon, Patton; sister, Elaine Solomon, Patton; sisters-in-law, Edna Solomon, Michigan, and Rose Marie Solomon, Johnstown; and brother-in-law, Bill Booth, Michigan. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Graduate of Penn State University and George Washington University Law School. Edward served in the U.S. Air Force before returning to join Vasil Fisanick in establishing the law firm of Fisanick and Solomon. He served as referee for the Pennsylvania State Unemployment Compensation Board of Review until his retirement. Edward will be remembered by his family and friends for his generosity and devotion. Those who would like to honor his memory may do so by showing a kindness to someone in need or sharing their time with someone who may be lonely. Special thanks to the Rebekah Manor staff and residents who became Edward and his daughter Amy s adopted family. Member of over 60 years of the American Legion Post 363, Ebensburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where military services will be held at 7 p.m. Committal at the conveniences of the family at Fairview Cemetery, Patton.
