KEPICH George J., 91, of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully March 10, 2015 at home. Born April 21, 1923 in Colver, son of the late Andrew and Mary Kepich. Preceded in death by his son, Daniel George Kepich, and brother Andrew. Survived by his loving wife Ann, whom he married October 15, 1949 in the Orthodox Church, and enjoyed 65 years of marriage; daughter, Corinne Kepich Sandefer, Ashburn, Virginia; son Alan Andrew Kepich, Timonium, Maryland; grandchildren: Christopher Daniel Kepich, Holicong, Pa.; Beth Anne Kepich, Emmaus, Pa.; and twins, Alyssa Marie and Elynnor Claire Sandefer, of Ashburn, VA. George had served as a coal miner for a few years and retired with 37 years of service as an electrician for U.S. Steel Corporation. A World War II Army veteran, he had attained the rank of Sergeant and served in the 310th Signal Operations Battalion laying communications throughout Europe. He raised his family in Fallsington, Pa. where he worked, hunted, gardened, worked in his wood shop and was active in his church. He returned to the Ebensburg area in 1988 to enjoy his retirement. As an avid bowler and card player, he also played the accordion. George was a member of the Ebensburg Post 363 American Legion, Post 4935 V.F.W.
