COOPER Kathryn G. Kay (Keener), 91, of Whitinsville, MA, formerly of Johnstown, died March 7, 2015 at St. Camillus Health Center, where she resided since 2007. She was the wife of the late Charles C. Cooper who died in 1996. She was born February 22, 1924 in Ebensburg, daughter of the late Morris Martin and Dorothy Evelyn (Tibbott) Keener. She was a graduate of Ebensburg High School and also attended Cambria-Rowe Business School. She was a longtime member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Conemaugh where she and her husband served in a variety of capacities to promote the Gospel. They moved to Massachusetts in 1990 to be near their son and family and attended Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church in Whitensville, where they met great, warm, praying people who made them feel welcome. Kay enjoyed painting, drawing, and researching genealogy and ancestry. She is survived by three sons: Charles C. (Joan) Cooper, Jr., of Knoxville, TN; Mark D. Cooper, of Orlando, FL; and Thomas A. (Susan) Cooper of Sutton, MA; one daughter, Cheryl (Michael) O Neil, of Laurel, MD and nine grandchildren: Makenzie, Melissa, Molly, Megan, Mark, Jr., Jay C., Ian, Bonnie, and Owen and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers Russell and James Keener. Funeral Services were held in Whitinsville and interment will be made in Ebensburg at Lloyd Cemetery this Tuesday. Donations in Kay s memory may be made to the St. Camillus Health Center, 447 Hill Street, Whitinsville, MA 01588. Local arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
