SHERO Charles A. Bucky , 81, of Ebensburg and formerly of Carrolltown, passed away peacefully April 9, 2014 at Windber Hospice with family always by his side. Born May 10, 1933 in Spangler, son of the Henry and Martha (Westrick) Shero. Preceded in death by wife, the former Bridget (Kline) Shero, who passed away February 7, 2011 and son-in-law John Spider Frank. Survived by daughters: Gloria (Robert) Nalisnick, Hollidaysburg; Bridget Frank; Margie (Ronald Jr.) Davidson; both of Ebensburg; Carol (Daniel) Hawthorn, Beaver, Pa.; Sandy (Daniel) Karlheim, Carrolltown; and grandchildren: Kristen (Dominic) Taddei, Joshua Nalisnick and Angie, Dr. Melissa Frank, Jenna (Dan) Bender; Noelle Frank, Justin, Tyler Rooney and Abby Davidson; Ashley (Garrett Santichen) Kenny and Bridget Kenny, Madison Valyo, Brandon (Jess) Karlheim, Alex and Paige (Joey Somogyi) Karlheim; and great grandchildren Eden, Ava, & Nicolas Taddei, Theodore Bender and another Bender baby on the way, and Ryan Oliver Karlheim. Member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg and former member of St. Benedict Parrish, Carrolltown. Bucky devoted his life to his family, he was the best Dad and pop pop to all. He enjoyed Pittsburgh Pirate Baseball, football, traveling with his late wife, going to casinos, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and tending to his meticulous yard. He was an award winning sales representative for the Harvest Insurance Company (GenWorth Financial) with 44 years of service and had served as Justice of the Peace in Carrolltown for many years. A US Army veteran of the Korean War where he attained the rank of corporal. Also a member of the St. Benedict VFW and Carrolltown American Legion. Friends will be received from 3-5 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bucky s memory may be made to the Windber Hospice or the Discalded Carmelite Nuns in Loretto
