WYLAND Gerald L., 72, Loretto, died suddenly April 30, 2015, in Allegheny Township. Born April 28, 1943, in Loretto, son of the late Ronald and Margaret (Sheehan) Wyland. Preceded in death by sister, Rose Bodenschatz, and infant brother, David. Survived by wife, Kathleen (Drass), whom he married April 20, 1963; children, Vickie Lassak (Tony); Joe (Annette Ruzzi); Ron; and Gerald Jr. Lee (Chrysa), all of Loretto; 15 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Brother of Faye Gabany, Colver; Lois Forsberg, Mechanicsburg; Jean Beyer, New Germany; Paul, Ebensburg; Ruthie Link, New Germany; and Ed, Altoona; also numerous nieces and nephews. Retired UMWA worker and lifetime farmer. His life was his family and farming. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto, the Rev. Matthew Reese. Committal, church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carmelite Monastery, P.O. Box 57, Loretto, Pa. 15940.
