DUMM - Donald G., 91, of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully at home under the gentle care of Hospice and his daughters on June 23, 2015. Born on the family farm in Bradley Junction on October 1, 1923, the son of the late Gordon H. and Esther (Kirsch) Dumm. He is preceded in death by his wife, the former Hilda Kline Dumm who passed away May 18, 2015, his son-in-law Steven C. Faish, grandson Bryan C. Faish, twin brother Fr. Demetrius R. Dumm, O.S.B., and brothers Fr. Wilfred M. Dumm, O.S.B., and Frederick Thomas, and sister Dolores Demma. He is survived by his devoted daughters: Janice (Russell) Weakland, Whitmire, South Carolina; Adele Faish and fiancé Larry Watson; Maxine (Mike) Lashley, of Ebensburg, Donna Burk, Smithsburg, Maryland and his grandchildren: Andrew Weakland and fiance Pam Gruber; Craig, Derek, & Corey Faish; Marissa Lashley; Casie, Corinne, & Valerie Burk, and great grandson Christopher Phillips. Also survived by sisters: Imogene Reidy, Silver Spring, Maryland and Roselyn (Frank) Colella, Olney, Maryland; and brothers: Clair (Dee) Dumm, of Ebensburg and Patrick (Barbara) Dumm, of New Germany. Don retired in 1985 as Plant Manager of the Ebensburg Agway Energy Products. He had also worked for the Former Farm Bureau, Home Baking Company, and was an agent/director for County Mutual Insurance Company. A member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg. A member of the Ebensburg Knights of Columbus Council #522, Fourth Degree, Prince Gallitzin Assembly, where he formerly served as Faithful Navigator, Grand Knight, Color Corps and Honor Guard. He was a life member and former secretary of the Dauntless Fire Company, and held membership in the County, Central District, Western District and State Fireman s Associations. He was also a former member of the White Birch Camp, member of Camp Nick and enjoyed membership at the Ebensburg VFW, American Legion and L.O.O.M. Don had been involved in many community and church activities. He also enjoyed winters in Florida, gardening, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, coffee club and Wednesday evenings at Camp Nick Friends will be received from 2 - 8 p.m., Sunday, June 28th, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Fireman s Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m., and the Knights of Columbus will hold a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Monsignor David Lockard, celebrant. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don s memory may be made to the Rev. Demetrius Dumm O.S.B. Scholarship Fund, St. Vincent Archabbey, 300 Frasier-Purchase Road, Latrobe, Pa. 15650.
