NERI - Eloise Jean " Nanny" , 89, of Ebensburg, passed away Aug. 14, 2015 at Amber Hills at Cambria Care Center. Born March 2, 1926 in Indiana County, daughter of the late Lemuel and Rosie (Painter) Spicher. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph Neri; son, Thomas Brothers; daughter, Patricia Sherry; an infant granddaughter; grandson, Adam R. Bechel; great-granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Thomas; great-grandson, Derrick Brothers; sisters, Audrey Reighard and Elaine Vetock; brother, Kenneth Spicher; daughter in law, Dolores Brothers; sons in law, Arch Bechel and Kenneth Sherry. Her hobbies included quilting, knitting, sewing and cooking; and won many ribbons for her quilts and craft projects at local fairs. She was known for Nanny buns and traditional fruit cakes. "Do good and share" , was taught to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very proud that she taught many to make bread, sew, knit and quilt. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev.
