YANEK – Steve, 98, of Quakertown, formerly of Ebensburg, passed away June 12, 2017. Born Jan. 9, 1919 in Lilly, son of the late John and Carolyn (Jelsko) Yanek. Preceded in death by sisters, Ann, Violet, and Antoinette; and brothers, Walter and Frank. Survived by daughters, Mary Ann (Tony) Vanscavish, Grace Stephens and Donna (David) Bebout. 8 Grandchildren; and sister, Mary Black. Steve was a retired machinist. Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral Mass to follow at 11 a.m. at Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, the Very Rev. Fr. John Byrnes, celebrant. Committal, St. Michael’s Cemetery, Loretto.
