Retired Colonel Firman Earl Shoff, “Earl”, age 82, died December 16, 2017 at Cambria Care Center. Born July 7, 1935 in Wilmore, son of the late Firman Andrew and Mildred Shoff. Preceded in death by parents and wife, Theadora Jane Shoff in 1996. Survived by sister, Dorothy Rennie, Erie PA and these children: Wendy (Terry) Struky, Indian Lake; Jeffrey (Beth) Shoff, Vinco; and Andrew (Maxine) Shoff, Ebensburg. Also survived by 6 grandchildren: Amanda and Adam Struky, Ryleigh and Malyn Shoff, and Tim and Zac Shoff. Graduate of Central Cambria High School and Penn State University. Former owner of Shoff’s Sporting Goods and retired from the Cambria County Court House. Earl had a 30 year distinguished military career beginning in Penn State ROTC and USAF where he was a pilot for 9 years, serving in the Vietnam War and the Bay of Pigs Invasion. He also served 20 years in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard as a pilot, air refueling squadron commander, and air refueling vice/wing commander. Thank you for your service dad, you were always so proud of that and so were we. Earl enjoyed hunting, golfing, flea markets, his 2 cats, and especially fishing; he also bought and sold vintage rods, reels, and fishing lures in his Ebay store. He was a member of many local clubs and organizations like the MOOSE, VFW, and American Legion. There will be no visitation or services.
