EVANCHICK – Mary (Stoyka), 99, formerly of Colver, passed away March 6, 2018 at Haida Manor, Hastings. Born January 29, 1919 in Daisytown, Washington County, daughter of the late John and Pauline (Matola) Stoyka. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph; daughter Mary Pauline Dillon; sister Helen Hudak and brother George Stoyka. Survived by sons: Joseph A. (Linda) Evanchick, Northern Cambria; and John G. (Maryann) Evanchick, Mineral Ridge, Ohio; Also grandchildren: Christine Hill, Michael, Jonothan, and John Dillon, Regina Biddlestone; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Mary was a member of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church where she was very active in the Church’s Woman’s Circle. She enjoyed gardening (flowers & vegatables) crocheting and was an avid reader. She was retired from Central Cambria School District where she had served as a secretary for many years. Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 9th, at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Rev. Fr. Andrew Matychak, celebrant. Committal at Lloyd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to her church.
