COLLINS – Katharine H. “Sue” (Pryce), 82, of Ebensburg, passed away August 3, 2018 after a long fight with Alzheimer’s at Amber Hills in Ebensburg. Born May 29, 1936 in Annapolis, Maryland, daughter of the late Roland Fremont and Katharine (Hartmann) Pryce. She is preceded in death by her step-mother, Isabel (Fenton) Pryce, brother, William Pryce, and former husband Frank Collins. Survived by sons: Christopher D. Collins, Ebensburg and Curt D. (Michelle) Collins, Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren: Kristen, Meredith, Hannah & Samantha; niece, Kathy Pryce and family; and nephews: Scott & Jeffrey Pryce and families. “Sue” had attended the former Ebensburg-Cambria High School, and attained her BSN at the former Mount Mercy College (now Carlow University). She served as a registered nurse at the Ebensburg Center, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Nurses Association, enjoyed crafting, which netted her many ribbons at the Cambria County Fair and was honored with a Community Service Award from her community for her work on the former Ebensburg Betterment Committee. Other interests included playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 10th at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 11th, at the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, the Rev. John R. Virgin, officiating. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) (envelopes also available at the funeral home).
