NOEL – Kenneth, 85, of Munster Twp., passed away peacefully August 8th, 2018, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 11, 1933 in Munster Twp., son of the late Frank and Catherine (Huber) Noel. Preceded in death by his brother Francis. Survived by his wife Leona (Marsh) Noel, to whom he was married 60 years; and children: Dan Noel, Gallitzin; Pam (Matt) Lorditch, Ebensburg; Deb (Brian) Hoover, Loretto; and grandchildren: Jacob Noel, Michael Lorditch, Jarod and JoAnna Hoover. Also survived by brothers and sisters: Mary Jane Delisi; Edgar Noel, Margaret “Peggy” Alfano, George Noel and Ann Barber. Ken was a member of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, in Loretto, where he had served as an usher. He retired from Vale Wood Dairy, where he had served as a milk delivery man for 48 years. A US Navy veteran, he was a member of the Ebensburg VFW and the Loretto and Ebensburg American Legions. He was the best husband, father and grandfather, attending all sporting events and musicals that the grandchildren were a part of. He loved all sports, especially football. He loved watching football, Family Feud, and American Ninja Warriors when he was ill. He also enjoyed being outdoors, working in the garden or mowing the lawn. He never missed his coffee club on Saturday mornings with Gary and the gang until he got ill. He loved visiting his second family at Vale Wood Farms. He will be sadly missed by his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was the best “Pap” ever! The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Conemaugh Hospice, Conemaugh 9-Ashman TCU, Dr. Donald Ratchford and especially Dr. Mark Ratchford and his staff who were always there to help. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Basilica of St. Michael, the Very Rev. John Byrnes, celebrant. Interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson. Military graveside rites by the Cresson, Loretto, & Gallitzin Veteran’s Organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home Activities Fund.
