HORNING – Keith D., 32, of Emporium, passed away October 16th, 2018 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Born November 14th, 1985 in Coudersport, son of Scott A. and Carla (Sloughfy) Horning of Emporium. Survived are his parents; his loving wife, the former Jennifer Casey Horning, to whom he was married seven years; and adoring children: Jesse, Lily and Colton, all at home. Also survived by paternal grandparents George and Ginger Horning, Emporium; maternal grandparents, Betty Sloughfy, Emporium and David Sloughfy, Kentucky; sister Sarah and Tony Suriano, Malvern, Pa; and nephews Anthony and Ian Suriano. Keith was employed as a corrections officer at FCI, Loretto. An Army veteran, he had served in Iraq and Afghanistan as an E-6 combat engineer. A member of the Loretto VFW and the Cresson American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle and 4-wheeler, and assisted in coaching the Youth Wrestling League at Penn Cambria Schools. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, Pastor Mark Lingenfelter, officiating. Military funeral rites by local veteran’s organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations in Keith’s memory may be made to his wife and children.
