KUPCHELLA - William A. "Fritz," 88, of Northern Cambria, died Nov. 23, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare-HAIDA, Hastings. Born March 2, 1916, in Nanty Glo, son of Martin and Mary (Kozlauskas) Kupchella. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Bernard, Martin and Charles; twin infant sisters, Bernice and Catherine; and special brother-in-law, Tony Litavec. Survived by wife of 62 years, former Elizabeth Litavec; children, Aldona, married to Robert M. Beall, Bradenton, Fla.; and William A., married to former Sara Boyce, Huntingdon. Also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer, and husband, Mark Mani, Pacifica, Calif.; Lydia, and husband, William Moriarty, Andover, Mass.; Elexis, and husband, Justin Taylor, Park City, Utah; Matthew Beall and wife, Maria, Bradenton; Marylynne Kupchella, Weehauken, N.J.; and Adam Kupchella, Huntingdon; and great-grandchildren, Lauren and William Moriarity. Also survived by brothers, Anthony, Cleveland, Ohio, and John, Nanty Glo; and numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Lifetime member and past commander of Barnesboro American Legion, Post 508. Lifetime member of DAV. Member of former St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name and Altar & Rosary Society. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Mr. Kupchella loved to cook and fish. Friends received from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, where Altar and Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 3 p.m. followed by vigil for the deceased. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Committal at East Ridge Cemetery.
