Link, Thomas G. Jr. "Kicker", 81, of W. Sample Street, Ebensburg, died November 26, 2004 at Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg. Born June 26, 1923 in Ebensburg, son of the late T. Gordon and Gladys (Yingling) Link. Preceded in death by brother F. Joseph Link. Survived by wife, the former Betty Boland, to whom he was married 60 years, and these children: Thomas G. III, and fiance' Doris Hawkins; Barb, wife of Dave Reese; Jeff, married to the former Kate Popovich; and Rick, married to the former Linda Persio, all of Ebensburg; and grandchildren: Michael Reese, married to the former Denise Slattery; Scott Reese; Jason & Dustin Link; Bryan Link, married to the former Kathleen Quinn; and Jessica Link. Also great-grandchildren: Marley Link, Collin Reese, Kyle Thomas Reese, and Wyatt Link. Brother of Paul Link, Cresson and Pete Link of Ebensburg. A lifelong member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, he had served his parish as an usher, and former chairman and co-chairman of the annual Holy Name Festival. Member & Past Commander of Ebensburg Post 4963 VFW; Member of Ebensburg Post 363 American Legion & Johnstown Post #2 of D.A.V.; Life member of National Rifle Association; Member of Council #522 Knights of Columbus, and life member and past president of the Dauntless Fire Company, Ebensburg. Active in the Ebensburg Community for many years: he had served as past president of the Ebensburg Little League; President of the former Cambria Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps; Charter Member of the Ebensburg Planning & Zoning Commission, and served as past president and Charter Member of the Board of Directors of the Ebensburg Area Ambulance Association. Tom was owner/operator of Tom Link Plumbing & Heating, which he established in 1951 and retired in 1988, succeeded in the family business by his son and grandsons. Kicker was an active sportsman and hunter, he was a member of the Bellyaker Gun Club in Huntingdon and enjoyed spending time at the "Swamp" A World War II Army veteran, where he had attained the rank of sargeant and served in the European Theatre of Operations. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing, however, all are welcome to the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom's memory may be made to the Ebensburg Area Ambulance Association or Holy Name School Angel Fund.
