KENNEDY - Michael D. Jr., 52, Johnstown, died Sept. 11, 2006, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born March 15, 1954, in Johnstown, son of Michael D. Kennedy Sr. and Betty Mae (Johncour) Kennedy. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife, Eulalie K. (Kearns) Kennedy "Lolly"; children, Daniel B. Kennedy, Michael D. Kennedy III; and Kelleigh J. Kennedy, all at home; brother, Thomas F., married to former Gayle S. Beigay, Pittsburgh; and sisters, Jacqueline E. Brunetto; Mary Elizabeth, wife of William C. Delaney, Revloc; and Elaine Marie, wife of Kieran A. Tuite, Pittsburgh. Also survived by mother-in-law, Joan B. Kearns, Pittsburgh; sisters-in-law, Joan, wife of Fred Rose, McKeesport, and Eileen, wife of Robert Kruszewski, Pittsburgh; aunt, Gerrie D. Kennedy; godchild, Robert J. Delaney; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graduate of Johnstown High School, Class of 1972. Graduated with a bachelor of science degree from University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Class of 1976, and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science Inc., Class of 1978, where he was the recipient of the John Rebol Award for outstanding scholastic achievement. Mike was a third generation funeral director, having worked at H. Samson, Pittsburgh; Cavanaugh Funeral Home, West Chester; Thomas Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg; John F. Kennedy Funeral Home, Kittanning; and as owner of the Moskal -- Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Johnstown. He was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Knights of Columbus #467, Knights of Columbus 4th degree, Lorain-Moxham Lions Club, Alhambra, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and St. Patrick Catholic Church. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Moskal -- Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Ohio Street and Highland Avenue, where wake service will be held Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Church, the Rev. Monsignor Harold N. Biller, celebrant. Interment, Richland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Building Fund.
